Our Story
The Center for Fundamental Rights (CFR) is dedicated to upholding justice, protecting human rights, and advocating for systemic legal reforms. Through strategic litigation, research, and public advocacy, we fight for fundamental rights, champion gender equality, and advance climate justice in Pakistan. CFR was founded by a team of lawyers with extensive experience in human rights and constitutional law, including work on some of Pakistan’s most significant legal challenges.
Our Work
Due Process & Right to a Fair Trial
CFR is dedicated to ensuring that all individuals have access to a fair and impartial judicial system. We work to challenge legal procedures that violate due process, prevent arbitrary detentions, and safeguard constitutional protections. Our efforts focus on strengthening the rule of law, ensuring access to legal representation, and advocating for judicial transparency and accountability.
Gender Equality & Freedom from Discrimination
We are committed to dismantling systemic inequalities in legal, professional, and social settings. Our work addresses gender justice, equal protection of the law, and the elimination of discriminatory practices in both legislation and institutional frameworks. We advocate for equal access to justice, protections against workplace discrimination, and reforms that uphold the dignity and rights of all individuals.

Environmental, Social and Governance & Climate Justice
Recognizing the intersection between human rights and environmental justice, CFR promotes responsible governance, corporate accountability, and policies that protect vulnerable communities from environmental harm. Our experience in litigation for environmental rights has driven impactful legal challenges advocating for clean air, protection of water resources, and the enforcement of environmental regulations. We actively engage in policy discussions and advocacy efforts to push for stronger climate action, ensuring that the right to a healthy environment is upheld as a fundamental human right.
